| Sax(.5)Sculpture | Do you have a saxophone quartet and you feel like running on a wire? This should be for you, cat. It's a piece written with a serial tecnique but, as some other works of mine, keeping a sort of jazz taste. The piece was written for the 2° Saxophone Festival in 2007 in Santa Cecilia in Rome and was played by "Hardware" (Giammarco e Palmieri) adding Gianni Oddi at Ialsax. A special remind to all players: be very careful to dynamic: often it changes suddendly.

| Max Traces | Contenuto nel CD Inside (vedi discografia), Max Traces è un brano al quale sono molto affezionato in quanto fu scritto per il mio caro amico, e immenso musicista, Massimo Urbani, poco dopo la sua prematura e dolorosa scomparsa. Nonostante le circostanze che ne hanno determinato l'ispirazione, l'impianto molto lirico del tema si apre verso un finale sempre di più luminoso, proprio a voler celebrare il lato più solare di Massimo e ricordare certe atmosfere coltraniane che lui amava moltissimo. L'impianto armonico dell'introduzione e dell'inizio del tema va rispettato come scritto in quanto è una delle particolarità del pezzo. |  |
| Sconclusione | I' m still playing Sconclusione (from "Saurian Lexicon") after almost twenty years not getting bored, so the tune must have something good, though being pretty simple. It's a kind of slow rock-tango with an implicit 16teen feeling in a trough composed form. The global structure of the tune suggests a big minor cadence (IIØ-V7alt-Im) several times delayed, with an 8 bars (s)conclusion that, looped on the end, works good for a drums feature. |  |
