(...) the title of this album aims at alluding playfully to our genetic musical heritage, that is, to that ensemble of "listened to" which, placed in the memory, constitutes the emotional inner part of each musician and mostly determines his style. The title of the album however, also aims at playing homage to the ritual aspect, that is, that code of behaviour characteristics of the productions of the sound event and of the relationships between the musicians, My last compositions are directly connected to my saurian lexicon: jazz, obviously.
They are modern themes which refer to the tradition concerning sound and syntax. They are propounded with that saurian relax which a good jazz performance needs. My friends who play in the album, have shown themselves to be real masters of such a cerimony and I feel extremely grateful to them. Funnily enough, according to the chinese horoscope, I belong to the sign of dragon... (M.G. march 1991)
